Datuk Thomas George
Chairman of the Board of PSDC
Datuk Thomas George serves as Chairman of the Board
of PSDC since 24th August 2009. He was appointed the
Secretary General of the Ministry of Works in April 2009,
prior to which he was the Secretary General of the Ministry
of Human Resources from 2006.
He has also served as the Director of Research and Planning
at the Public Service Department from 2001 to 2004, and
prior to that, at the National Institute of Public Administration
(INTAN) as the Senior Project Coordinator for the Management
Development & Quality Programme, the Training & Multimedia
Development Programme, and the Supervisory Management
Programme. Earlier on in his career Datuk Thomas had
also held the Assistant Director position at the Socio-Economic
Research Unit and at the Malaysian Centre for Development
Studies of the Prime Minister’s Department.
Datuk Thomas George holds a Master in Public Administration
(MPA) from George Washington University, USA, a Bachelor
of Arts with Honours from the University Malaya and a
Diploma in Public Administration from INTAN, Malaysia.
He has extensive experience in the area of training and
development having served as a Consultant for the Management
Training & Service Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat
(UK) to Jamaica, Cameroon, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada,
Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Samoa, Maldives and Jamaica. |
