GRANTS
Export Promotion Grant (under MATRADE)
(The grant has been approved in principle. Proceedures manual is underway)
This
fund is expended through:
i.Full grants
The full grant shall be for all costs relating to feasibility studies
and project management in targeted sectors where it has been appraised
to commercial benefits and other positive returns to Professional Services
Providers through branding and a longer-presence.
It
shall be largely for government to government involvements; as a government
penetration initiate, as well as for cost sharing and co-financing agencies
such as World Bank, ADB, UNDP and IDB.
ii.Matching
grants
Malaysian Professional Services Providers can obtain matching grants
or 50 percent of the approved cost of the activities necessary for the
biding of Professional Services related projects.
iii.Conditional
grants
This type of grant is for financing 50 percent of the Malaysian Professional
Services cost related to the preparation and submission of bids in respect
of (1) design and build project and privatisation projects. The bidder
shall reimburse the government in the event of successful reimbursement.

Market
Development Grant
This is a matching
grant to assist SMEs undertake activitities for the development of their
export market. Eligible activities are:
- Participation in Trade Missions, Specialised Selling Missions, International
trade Fairs and Industry Related International
Conferences
- Participation in Malaysia Trade Centres Overseas
- Preparation of Promotional Items
- Promotion in Brands Overseas
- Participation in Overseas International Tenders
- Participation in meetings related to negotiation on Mutual Recognition
Agreement (MRA) by representatives of the Trade and Industry
and Professional Services Association
- Setting up sales promotion office overseas to promote exports of Malaysian
products and services
- For women owned enterprise, additional eligible activities are:
-Participation in Malaysia Export Exhibition
Centre (MEEC) at MATRADE
-Participation in local export training
seminars / workshop conferences
The
claimable expenses are:
- Participation fee
- Economy class airfare for one person
- Women owned enterprise are eligible for two economy class airfare
- Claims for hotel room will be limited to one room not exceeding RM200
per night for local international trade fairs and US$ 200
per night for overseas fairs, missions and conferences.
Women owned enterprise are eligible for 2 hotel rooms
- Rental of standard booth
- Rental of exhibits/samples and promotional materials
- Construction of standard booth
- Standard advertisement in trade fair publication

Brand Promotion Grant
The objective of
the grant is to develop and promote brand names owned by companies for
services originating from Malaysia to the international market. The
approval may be given to companies based on among others the following
considerations:
For 100%
reimbursable grant services, companies/ business unit
must have:
1.a sales turnover of not exceeding RM5 million or full time employees
not exceeding 50
2.services already exported with at least 20% of sales from export OR
has export potential ( a full investigation is requirde for the latter)
3.a full business plan
